Many families are surprised to learn that financial assistance may be available for students with dyslexia and other learning differences. Across the United States, several states now offer scholarships, ESA (Education Savings Account), and school choice programs that can help cover the cost of specialized tutoring, dyslexia intervention, evaluations, and other educational services.
At Growing Through Dyslexia, we believe every child deserves access to evidence-based reading support, and we are proud to work with multiple state-funded scholarship programs to help families receive the services their children need.
What Are Dyslexia Scholarships or ESA Programs?
Scholarship and ESA programs are state-funded education programs designed to give families more flexibility in choosing educational services for their children. Depending on the state and program, funds may be used for:
Dyslexia tutoring and intervention
Reading therapy
Educational evaluations
Curriculum and instructional materials
Private school tuition
Specialized educational services
These programs are often designed for students with diagnosed disabilities or homeschool families.
Who May Qualify?
Eligibility varies by state and program, but students may qualify if they have:
Dyslexia
A diagnosed learning disability
An IEP or 504 Plan
Reading difficulties requiring intervention
Enrollment in public school programs
Enrollment in homeschool programs
Certain academic or income-based qualifications
Some states require formal documentation, while others offer broader eligibility for families seeking alternative educational support.
